Not what I thought

So yesterday we were so tired because baby Levi decided to cut his bottom teeth and cry a lot. So we didn't run at 7am. Instead we finally made it around 11am. We were doing great. Kids were asleep and it was mile 4. I thought yes we were going to make at least 6miles.  Then Levi started screaming. He was so upset that we needed to stop. So again we were unable to get in the miles so we have made the decision to split up and run separately. So after this tough day with the kidos we had a date night. We went to the Braves game. It sounds fun and exciting but Jay and I have become old and tired people. For example Jay is already in bed asleep. We really thought that it would be this great time. We had great company (my sister and her man Eric) great seats (thanks AP&O). It truly was fun but when we started driving home at 11pm Jay and  both said that we need to rethink date night and make it a date day. So we have truly hit the adulthood phase . Maybe some of you out there still have that young at heart ability to stay up and chat and laugh but as we dropped Cheryl and Eric off I realized that they were still talkative. They still had the glimmer in their eyes. While Jay and I could barely speak. I love being a mom and I would not change a thing. I just am learning that it really doesn't take much for it to be a date anymore. Before sitting alone in the quite or just hanging out is enough. I am just satisfied with less. I always judged people before for not making the effort to spice it up or do new things. I now understand. I now get why people say no to going to a 7pm game over an hour away.  I get why people rent a movie and call it a night. With all that said please except my deepest apologies for any judgement and good night for goodness sake its 10:32!

  1. hehe. Joe's mom got a quote to buy a pool a few months ago, she thought that maybe they would be having an end of the summer sale so asked us to go and see if they gave us a cheaper quote. Joe said "no problem if she would keep the girls and let us go to dinner afterward"
Date night for us consisted of the pool place, Kohls to pick out a dress for Annie's pictures (from the sale rack of course) and then dinner out to my choice... I was so tired I just wanted to get back home so I picked the same old Mexican place we always go (always). Dont get me wrong the mexican place is amazing that is why we are frequent flyers but it is not anywhere special. The special part was an evening of not having someone drool on me and a chance to talk to my husband with out "Mama watch" We even listened to the radio and sang along to something other than "the wheels on the bus"! We were home and in bed by 10!
